Preparations for the World Robot Olympiad 2025 begin at the school in Vasilați!
After successfully participating in the FIRST LEGO League Festival, students from Constantin Brancoveanu Vasilati Secondary School are taking a new step forward and starting preparations for the National Stage of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) – Robomission Kids section (6-10 years old).
This year, Vasilați will be represented by three teams:
Vasilați Lions
Vasilați Dolphins
Vasilați Tigers
The teams are made up of children who have already participated in FLL, but also of new members, curious to discover the world of robotics competitions. According to WRO rules, each team has a smaller number of participants, which means that each child has a more important role in building, programming and testing the robot.
Their missions seem like something out of a science fiction movie: to get the Ingenuity helicopter back to Mars, supply the International Space Station with oxygen, water, and food, remove space debris blocking access to a malfunctioning satellite, transport vegetables to the lunar greenhouse, and bring the two astronauts stranded on Mars and the Moon back to Earth — all in just two minutes, with a robot they built and programmed themselves!
Several of the older children, who have exceeded the age limit for this section, will not be on the competition field, but will support the younger teams, offering them their experience and contributing to the testing and improvement of the robots.
Months full of testing, trials, and many hours spent in the lab follow, in which each team will try, make mistakes, and succeed, step by step, in perfecting their robot and strategy.
Good luck, kids!
