3 Ways of SVR in Geneva: a world final, meetings and new ideas

There are participations that are measured in results and participations that open a new world.

For Andrei, David, Filip, Ștefan and Vlad, and their mentor Marius Lumpan, the four days spent in Geneva brought them a little bit of both.

Between July 7–10, 2026, the 3 Ways of SVR team from the club Inventika Place from Bucharest represented Romania at the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge Grand Finale, held as part of the AI for Good Global Summit, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The competition, organized by the International Telecommunication Union, challenges students aged 10 to 18 to build and program robots capable of solving missions inspired by real-world problems. The 2025–2026 edition had a food security theme, and the competition field reproduced farm-specific activities, from irrigation and harvesting to resource management.

The Geneva final brought together teams from 50 countries on five continents, after a season of national stages in which approximately 10,000 children and adolescents participated.

It was Romania's first presence at this international final and the children's first participation in a world competition built around this type of project.
The team finished the competition in an honorable 11th place, after four intense days, in which the program started early and ended almost every time late.

The children discovered how differently the same challenge can be approached. Each team came up with their own solutions, their own way of working and their own experience, and this diversity was one of the most important parts of the competition.
Participation was not limited to the matches held on the competition field.

The Robotics for Good Youth Challenge took place as part of the AI for Good Global Summit, an event where researchers, engineers, organizations and companies from around the world presented technologies and projects that seek to address real-world problems.
The children had the opportunity to see technologies up close that they had only encountered in articles and presentations. They attended conferences, talked with representatives of other teams, and discovered ideas that could influence their future projects.

An important part of these days was also the presence of visitors at the Romanian stand. Here, the team met numerous Romanians settled in Switzerland or coming to the summit, happy to see Romania represented in this competition for the first time.

International competitions offer children something that cannot be fully replicated in the training room: direct encounters with other teams, the pressure of a world event, and the opportunity to see where they stand in relation to participants who have traveled similar paths in other countries.
The team returned home with new ideas, a clearer understanding of the international level, and the experience of a competition in which they represented Romania for the first time.

For ARTESA Association, supporting children's participation in competitions means more than financing a trip. It means transforming a qualification obtained through work into a real learning opportunity.
We supported the participation of the 3 Ways of SVR team so that Andrei, David, Filip, Ștefan and Vlad could reach Geneva, present their work and live this experience alongside teams from around the world.
We thank the partners who contributed to this participation: GTS Telecom, AJC Trucks and Tech Recruitment, as well as the parents for their trust and support during the preparation and travel.

Congratulations, Andrei, David, Filip, Ștefan and Vlad!
Participating in Geneva adds an important experience to your journey and, above all, new ideas and benchmarks for what you will build next.
