RuralBots Academy Vasilați, early winter update
Since the beginning of October until now, the workshops RuralBots Academy Vasilați they moved forward at the same natural pace that has defined this program for almost two years.
The fall-winter period is one without spectacular events, without moments that make big headlines, just discreet but important activity that happens every week when children come to learn, build, and discover.
Robotics workshops have already become a habit for them. They know where their place is in the workroom and what they have to do. Sometimes, one or two of the more daring ones decide to sit somewhere else, and then a little administrative-fun chaos is created.
Importantly, their curiosity is just as alive. They come back with questions, with ideas, with the desire to always try something new. They always declare that they want the hardest construction, being convinced that they will succeed.
In recent weeks we have focused on simple but essential things:
-using sensors in the most intuitive ways possible;
-short programs, easy to understand and test;
-small logical thinking exercises, suitable for both advanced players and those who are still looking for the pieces in other compartments.
These are normal activities, but it is precisely their normality that builds self-confidence and learning rhythm over time. Everything is done without pressure on speed or performance, it being important that each child understands what the robot is doing, why it responds in a certain way, and how it can be made to do what we want, not what it wants.
Each workshop has its own dynamics, its own energy, those moments when a child finds the solution to a challenge on their own, or asks a question that, just a few weeks ago, would never have arisen.
These are the true achievements of robotics workshops, even if, from the outside, it seems that nothing out of the ordinary is happening. Plus one more achievement, which only those from this period give: each completed workshop brings Santa Claus closer.
