RuralBots Open Championship: from concept to reality

Once the theme and the map were presented, we also formed the teams, and the children chose their own names. It may seem like a small detail, but it is not at all like that. At that moment, everything becomes real for them, they are no longer just participants in a workshop, but they begin to feel part of a team. They recognize themselves in the chosen name, they gather around it, say it proudly and begin to imagine how they will enter the competition, how they will work together and how they will present themselves.

It was one of those moments that shows you very clearly why this work is worth doing. Not for a successful photo or for a beautifully written text afterwards, but for the reaction of the children when they feel that they are being given the chance to take part in a real challenge. A challenge in which they are not only asked to be present and execute, but to think, collaborate, assume a role and put their energy into something that suddenly becomes important to them.

RuralBots Open Championship is a competition dedicated to children in grades I-IV, organized by ARTESA, which will take place on June 20, in the sports hall of Constantin Brâncoveanu Vasilați Secondary School. All clubs in the country are invited to participate, and we are convinced that on the day of the competition, not only teams and robots will gather there, but also the energy and joy that you see in the video, only on a much larger scale.
