RuralBots Initiative – digital education for every child, wherever they are

After the experience gained through educational programs and participation in national and international robotics competitions, we realized that the differences between urban and rural children, when it comes to access to STEAM education (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics), are still very large.
Since last year, ARTESA Association began developing several initiatives that took technological education to places it seemed impossible:
Rural Summer Camps, Autumn Counts the Robots and Robotics and Programming Hub, an ongoing project, opened the way for children from the rural communities of Vasilați, Nuci and Popești to the world of science and innovation.
Out of the desire to bring coherence, continuity, and greater impact to these initiatives, we felt the need to bring them together under a single concept, a framework project that would integrate and develop them further.
That's how it was born RuralBots Initiative, a Master Project designed as a model of good practices, capable of being replicated in any school in rural Romania.
Children in Romania's villages have an extraordinary curiosity and a sincere desire to learn. What they often lack are the resources, access to technology, and the opportunity to experience learning through practice.
By RuralBots Initiative, we want to give them the chance to discover the fascinating world of robotics, to develop their critical thinking, creativity and confidence in their own potential.
We strongly believe that every child has the right to an education that prepares them for the future.
By RuralBots Initiative, The ARTESA Association aims to transform this right into a reality, step by step, school by school, community by community.
Together, we build a better world!
