In February, when we arrived for the first robotics presentations in schools in Ciorogârla and Dârvari, one of the questions the children asked most often was very simple: "When does it start?".

Now we can answer them.

RuralBots Academy Ciorogarla starts on October 1st, the new program of the ARTESA Association through which children from the commune will have free access to robotics and programming workshops.

The program will take place during the period October 1, 2026 – June 18, 2027, and the workshops, free for children, will take place at the school in Darvari. Registrations are open, and the registration form can be found by clicking on the button on dedicated project page. RuralBots Academy Ciorogârla banners are also placed at the schools in Ciorogârla and Dârvari, and the same page can be accessed by scanning the QR code on them.

RuralBots Academy is, above all, about hands-on work. Children will build robots, program them, test solutions, try again when something doesn't work, and work together in teams. Along the way, for children who want to go further, the program can also pave the way for team building and participation in robotics competitions.

The road to here began in February, at the invitation of the mayor George Nicula, when we first discussed the possibility of expanding the RuralBots Initiative to the commune of Ciorogârla. This was followed by demo classes organized for children from both schools, in Ciorogârla and Dârvari, with the support of the principal Gabriela Ilisie. Then I showed them what it means to build and program a robot. From now on, they will be able to do the things they only watched back then.

The opening of RuralBots Academy Ciorogârla was made possible through the collaboration between ARTESA Association, Ciorogarla Municipality City Hall and school, as well as with the support of CAT Autologistics, the sponsor who joined the project and made this beginning possible.

An important principle of the RuralBots Initiative remains unchanged: Children's participation is free, and the program does not add additional expenses to the local budget.. Financing of activities is ensured exclusively from sponsorships and donations.

In order to support the program at the planned level throughout the entire period and to provide continuity, ARTESA continues to seek new sponsors. RuralBots Initiative has grown so far precisely through such partnerships, which have made it possible for robotics and programming to reach communities where children have very few such opportunities.

If you represent a company and want to contribute to the continuity of RuralBots Academy Ciorogârla, write to us at contact@artesa.ong. A partner means more time for children in the community to have free access to quality robotics, programming, and STEM education.

Together, we build a better world.
